Sounds like a design oversight (which I’m sure can easily happen in such a network), rather than a complete failure of the actual mechanics.

Seemed to be flying before the error kicked in, well done team. Sounds really promising.

So can the network not return a fetched chunk if the full amount of redundant copies of that chunk are not available?

Still makes sense that if nodes in other geographic locations drop that the chunks can be replicated back to the proper max redundancy but shouldn’t you be able to retrieve a chunk even if at the moment there was only one left? Or is it not possible because the priority is to replicate those chunks to new adults on churn?

Absolutely, we should be able to GET even if there is just one chunk available. Replication is not linked with GETs, so that won’t affect our queries directly :slight_smile:
