lol ya I looked at it and ok I see your point. Its mostly disgusting. I am thinking about a new topic to start. I know we have already addressed many times what if theres some pedos on the SAFE network… ok there’s some in the world and maybe they will use it. The question I want to ask is how do we avoid that being our “brand.” It seems like you hit a kinda critical mass of assholes and then that’s what the place is about. Nice people just don’t want to go there cause its like a nazi hangout. What can we do with our marketing that drives us away from that critical mass of dingbats so that everyday people want to be there?
I would love to give you a sure-fire effective answer to that one. It’s something I have had problems with myself ever since it became clear to me how powerful SAFE could become.
My solution is to call out the assholes wherever they try to pop up. Especially the really stupid Brazilian ones that don’t even know they are fascists
This may have limitations as a “corporate” marketing technique however.
I dont know what you do about extreme porn though…
Seed Network with several dApps from non-seedy players
Seek out decent and reputable partnerships
Invest in/support effective decentralized rating systems
Much like the Internet, absolute elimination of refuse won’t be possible, but hopefully we can heavily shift the balance towards the forces of good, so to speak.
Last year a friend of @Dimitar had a first cut of a messaging app running. That may make the a good start. Or perhaps @Dimitar could ask his friend if he wants to try again.
It was mobile-only IIRC but I deleted it to save space on the phone a few months back and can remember only a few details. The actual name of the app is one of the details that escapes me…
It was called “Zignals” - i.e. signals zig-zaging trough safenet nodes
Back then there were Java bindings for the API so I used them to create the app. Currently I don’t see java bindings. It seems that they are abandoned. I am keeping an eye on the progress of the project and will jump back in when it is close to beta release and work on the app (starting from scratch). Sadly, I doesn’t seems like the project is close to that point…
About the issue discussed in this topic: You have to be mentally prepared and accept the fact that a lot of illegal content will find its way to safenetwork. It seems inevitable. The important point is that when the network is operational it will provide safe space for the good content too.
I have ethical concerns about this. It’s portrayed as an unaffiliated random discovering something while watching a movie, which is clearly not the case.
Hold the presses, person tells slight untruth on internet!!!
World shocked, revolts predicted in geek communities across the globe, marketeer suicides reported in major capitals!!!

Sorry Joe, this is the real world, we have seen how far our efforts get when we tell the plain unvarnished truth.
I’m a fan of action. When you act, you learn. For example, you may learn that a type of marketing is not effective for our purposes. But you can only learn this by action, not by speaking so… more action, less speaking
Most modern books, TV series, newspapers, magazines, movies, documetaries, social media, online Ads, TV ads, apps, websites, radio, podcasts, billboards, direct mail, and just about everything under the sun that is advertised, marketed or in the web era ‘shared’ has a level of bullshit to it. I mean what is woman’s make up afterall? It’s a bullshit face mask slapped on a layer of truth to attract the opposite sex (or ocassionaly the same), it’s not entirely what you wake up to in the morning but some of it is.
Not enough to get to the phase you’re struggling to solve the ownership related compile warnings. Is it that bad you rather want to kill yourself (with poison)?
