If Maidsafe had a catch phrase

“SAFE - You are the network.” (with a hat tip to Robert_von_Schryvers)

“safe and sound - our network.”

“And SAFE it is.”

“SAFE - The cloud as it should be.”

“Do. Share. Store. SAFE.”

“WTF happened to the internet? It’s SAFE.”

“Yes. SAFE.”

“reverse enclosure”

As in reversing the enclosure movement and the control through artificial scarcity. Liberate through decentralization. I know SAFE wasn’t the first to do it but there is something very gratifying about using literal decentralization of data as a means of defense.

Stay SAFE

“Power to the People” the PTTP protocol.

I just found this and screen shot it. Perfect example of how a marketing phrase can really send the wrong message:

Look at the top AT&T advertisement*

SAFEnet (short pause) Freedom (Micro pause) Restored (said in a slightly authoritative tone) (meanwhile (not after) a soft melodic instrumental plays in the background while the SAFE triangle spins twice. Then the screen fades to black. Next commercial.)

Voiced by the guy who did this: MaidSafe Technology Overview - Short - YouTube

Remember the context associates freedom with the internet. No need to get hung up with the broad definition.

I’m Australian and we shorten words A LOT… the first thing that comes to mind is the NewNet, then second thought along those lines is NextNet… or the SafeNet. I’m thinking for what people will actually SAY - hearing the words is how a lot of people will be introduced to the concept. Broad yet succinct words are usually easily repeated and capture the imagination.

As a general rule of thumb anyway.

safeRnet always sounded very short, perfect, and to the point.

Internet, but SAFE, and it’s also much safer.

People say “internet” all the time.

“safernet” just makes 100% sense above all alternatives
