[How To]: Buy/Move/Store OMNI MAID :safe: hardware and software wallets

Haven’t heard of this one before and it’s not listed on the safe website. Are they trustworthy?

By default no intermediary is trustworthy in the crypto world. The rule is to buy from intermediaries in small parts. So you risk losing only the last part…

With this clarification, there are people from the United States who have been buying from this site for years without any problems.

They show a network fee of 58 MAID – that’s $40! Just want to confirm that’s legit. Is that the fee required by the OMNI network?

The last MAID transaction was sent for $ 24, ie. if they have chosen a fast transaction it may be so expensive: https://omniexplorer.info/tx/3e607a3c7815daac4206dbc8dc71f158852eaea40a679b7bae43106db01024e8

Remember, every Omni transaction is a Bitcoin transaction

BTC fees are usually a bit lower on weekends if you wanted to wait and try then (although maybe changely might not have any MAID at that time, and I’m not sure if their fee changes with the state of the BTC network)

i think I have lost some made during setting up a Trezor model T :frowning:
the bit coin account I set up in Trezor suite was (native SegWit)
not (SegWiT)

so when I try to access the account on OMNI Trezor

does any one no if it is possible to retrieve maid from a Native SegWit address?

also @Dimitar can you update the first post to do not use Legacy accounts or Native SegWit Accounts

I don’t have a Model T to test, but in Trezor One both types (Segwit and Legacy) work. Can you click on the Segwit tab and on the Legacy tab and tell me if there is any error?

Native segwit (bc1) is not supported anywhere, maybe next update to omnicore

bech32 is not yet supported.

Can you tell me if you sent MAID to a starting with bc1 address?

Because at the moment Bluewallet gives a native segwit address and if you sent it to it you can’t move it (I’m not even sure you can send it successfully, I tried to send through Bittrex and it shows me that it was sent, but in omniexplorer the bc1 addresses are not visible and I can’t check)

@Dimitar @s3r610 thanks for your help luckily it was only 10 maid lost as I was testing out using a Trezor before transferring over the maid from my paper wallet.

is it possible to update this section of the first post ?

to

Important!
do NOT use the “Legacy account” (address starts with “1” - in other words the non segwit addresses)
do NOT use “Native SegWit account” (address starts with “bc1”)
only use SegWit account (address starts with “3” )
http://wallet.trezor.io to later be able to send MAID using https://trezor.github.io/omni-trezor/

Addresses starting with 1 also work now, I need to remove it from OP, thank you!

I changed the status of Open Ledger DEX to a confirmed exit scam. They sold the MAID tokens long before they announced the closing of the exchange…

Hi Dimitar,

Thanks for the post.
I follow the steps, but after i connect my trezor to omnitrezor.com and choose the BTC address where i have my MAID tokens, it stays LOADING forever and do not let me move to the next step…

I contacted you also through whatsapp if you can reply from there.

Regards Meir

Try https://trezor.github.io/omni-trezor/, omnitrezor.com is no longer up to date.

I think a couple people have already confirmed, but in case not, I had no issues using that github address with the Model T.

I don’t have good understanding of how OMNI works so I want to confirm with you all: can I send MaidSafeCoin from any exchange to any regular bitcoin address? That seems to be what the “cold wallet” instructs are instructing to do since they doesn’t mention using OMNI wallet or OMNI core.

Then later down the line if I want to send the coins somewhere, I just import the private address into omni wallet or omni core and send funds using that software like I would any other bitcoin wallet?
