That is the question, will MAIDSAFE do to NAS what Ethereum has done to GPU market?
MAIDSAFE could awaken a new technology race within NAS manufacturing similar to what Ethereum and others requiring GPU mining has done to the GPU market.
If spending £3500 on a NAS solution reaps rewards in MAIDSAFE storage mining this could produce a real technology boost and awaken a sleeping giant.

Unlikely, because storage is at a stage where large amounts are relatively cheap. You can get terabytes of storage for a few hundred dollars nowadays, maybe even less.

Now fast storage, like flash based storage, maybe - provided the network prefers fast storage. TB of flash based storage is still pretty expensive compared to traditional methods.
