Who built the Safe browser and how compatible is it?

Hi,

is the Safe browser compatible with the latest standards like HTML5? Who built this? Did’nt it take years for Chrome to come up to standard?

Thanks

It is a fork of the Breaker Browser

You can read the genesis of the SAFE browser here

And a search of the forum will provide you with plenty of reading info. The dev updates each week sometimes includes info on updates to the browser.

Hi @damon.

Yes it’s fully compatible with HTML 5. It’s actually built in electron, which is a JS environment for building chromium based apps. So it’s using the same base browser technology as in the Chrome and Brave browsers.

Fully HTML 5 compatible. It has the V8 javascript rendering engine built by google in C++.

Some of the latest and greatest technology.

It is same platform that Visual Studio Code, Slack (Desktop), and Hyper and run on.
