What’s up today? (Part 1)

The real subtext here is not that such things exist, but that this one has been verifiably used on journalists, friends of political foes, etc. ‘Only terrorists with a warrant’… bullshit.

If only whistleblowers and journalists had access to an encrypted WWW to communicate and drop documents instead of using whatsapp… although with this level of 0day hack, the hardware probably needs to be secured as well, perhaps a simple device with something like qubes or even a tails distribution…

Feels like the film “V for Vendetta” is becoming real.

It is troubling that Government considers itself more important than the people. There is no proper oversight now for what they do and why… slippery slope into alsorts of errors… and we get to suffer them. Without negative feedback from the likes of journalism, the errors will only get worse.

The government is of course just people … And people IMO are mostly tribal in nature. Even the oligarchs themselves are tribal.

I think the Internet has radically changed the balance of power here though - it’s an incredible tool to break down walls between us as well as to give more oversight to the State. Yet the oligarchy won’t yield up it’s control - especially now when they see it slipping through their grasp - they will grip harder and the State is their tool for this ends.

I have great hope for SN here to empower the Internet (and hence the people) so much more than now in multiple ways.

Thank you Brexit voters, your feeble-mindedness and general dislike of brown and French people has led to this…

Sad there is no food but agree with Brexit voters, third world people will make any country a living hell hole, rather die or burn it to the ground before letting them in.

Lol. Saw two article headlines on one of my newsfeeds yesterday, and had to laugh at the disparity.

Got an archive.is link for that first one ?

As for the second link - beach volleyball has always been about titillating males looking at pert female bums and fantasising while kidding on they are into “sport”

Let them watch Pornhub and do away with this degrading money-grabbing excuse for a “sport”

DIdn’t find it on archive, but it ran on several U.S. news outlets. Olivia Breen is the athlete’s name. Not sure the best way to avoid cookies. I didn’t get a cookie notice when I went to the CBS one above, but my filters are probably not set as securely as they should be.

There are several countries not part of EU in Europe and they still have full shelves of food.
The difference is only, that they did not leave EU.

Mine are set to “particularly Paranoid”

Thanks for the CBS link…

Seems like some female official is jealous of Olivia Breen’s legs and some old guys are annoyed they are not getting to perv on the Norwegian girls team…

Misogyny everywhere…

The alternative is to go back to the original Olympic basics - ONLY have sports that can be done ENTIRELY NAKED - ie with no balls, wheels, horses or other junk.

So, that just leaves running, jumping swimming, diving and maybe wrestling and Judo - much more sensible . .

And if there is still concern about the nakedness, then ONLY NAKED spectators to be allowed in to the arenas . .

Mairead bringing huge pride to the people of Ireland there. The comments under her tweet are worth a scroll, I didn’t go all the way, but out of browsing 50 odd replies every one was railing her, and pointing out in different ways how silly the idea is.

It’s a mixup that drives home the point that cryptocurrency regulation is too often being created by people who know next to nothing about the technology.

Show me the incentives and I will show you the outcome.”
These people don’t even got skin in the game (own crypto), so imho code is law (if you disagree :fork_and_knife: the disliked chain. :stuck_out_tongue:

It was a pretty dumb comment on her (McGuinness) part. Her tweet was seriously ratio’d in the comments.
