What’s up today? (Part 1)

Mastodon is no substitute though I’ve tried, here, and I also have a tech account corresponding to my two Twitter accounts.

I’m afraid there’s simply never going to be any good alternatives until people bail on the existing bad ones. It’s self-perpetuating - like most every human organization - and won’t change until individuals get thoroughly sick of it and move to something else.

Social networks on Safe are going to face the same hurdle - of on-boarding people from older networks.

People tolerate alsorts for what is easy and convenient. The sum of what is important becomes a mashup and what is popular then a bit random. Reason to reduce all UI hurdles.

Indeed… they can programme an exception to that, on the basis that they can do no wrong; imagine the fuss about Covid, if it only affected the slaves…

Good intentions; error; repeat.

Ignore the title of this video (have no idea about that), this clip though is from the awesome tv show “Lexx” and it shows the direction that all this fascism is going - your automated justice system not too far down the track.

There’s something to be said for taking the safety labels off everything… encourage people to think…

The safety labels aren’t really there for the consumers, are they. They’re there for the producers’ lawyers to have something to point to if something bad happens. The inability of people to think for themselves is a side effect.
