What’s up today? (Part 1)

Perhaps, but they always start small, pushing the bigger agenda. So long as the FED has to print to maintain, they are at a significant disadvantage to crypto … To the point now where it makes a lot of sense for companies to leverage invest in BTC … If the trend continues and I see no reason it won’t, the selling pressure on the USD (and really all fiat currencies) is going to slip out of their grasp … then fiat loses all value and the FED is done. C. Lagarde was also talking about this a few days back - indicating that they need to close off all avenues for escape into crypto - as if even one door is left open, it will be an escape valve.

IMO, these people are all criminals (C. Lagarde literally is a convicted criminal) … they will stop at nothing to prevent the loss of their fiefdoms. But they won’t clearly say that outright as that would foster strong opposition - politics 101.

Well, existing search engines could just crawl ipfs:// and safe:// URLs. The results would just return with the appropriate URLs. I suppose it depends how comfortable people are missing clear net and distributed net(s).

Obviously, it also needs the likes of Google to decide to crawl these other sources too. One solution would be to actually open the links in the Safe Browser, for example.

I didn’t know porn was illegal in China. I suspect law breakers would want more assurance than just paying for it… anonymous data access too, perhaps? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

This is awesome!

Seemingly in response to the takedown notice, a wave of crypto firms have published the white paper on their websites. As of press time they include:

So predictable…

Cooper, who cited estimates from the US National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that 70% of reports from Facebook would be lost, expressed shock at the decision. “Why on earth – why, seriously, why is Facebook trying to introduce something that will put more children at risk, that will make it harder to rescue vulnerable children? Why are you doing this?”

But then we are reliant on centralized servers … which makes the decentralized web mostly pointless.

Prostitution is illegal too … but it’s everywhere and deeply embedded in Chinese culture. The police not only look the other way, they take part. IMO these laws are all just a means to go after people if the police or government decides they don’t like them for reasons x,y,z.

I do not disagree with your view but my point of it being sensationalist media click bait z-list crypto journalism is made below.

What she said was nothing near what was “reported”.

Though Yellen’s written statement reiterates the need to curtail the use of the crypto for “malign and illegal activities,” she also said that she planned to encourage the use of digital assets for “legitimate activities.”
Yellen said:
“I think it important we consider the benefits of cryptocurrencies and other digital assets, and the potential they have to improve the efficiency of the financial system.”
The future Treasury Secretary also said she wanted the United States to be a “leader in the digital asset and financial technology areas.” She added that she would help develop a regulatory framework for cryptocurrency “and other fintech innovations” by working with the Federal Reserve Board.

I hope you are right … I take the pessimistic angle in an attempt to motivate myself to consider worst case scenarios.

It’s a big stretch in any case that they would be able to lock out exchanges globally - especially with more and more decentralized solutions becoming available and more and more stable-coins.

I get a 404 error and a funny image … was that the joke? Or bad link?

Are they preparing the possible “blackout” to put the “blame” on Btc and cryptocurrencies ???

By “they” do mean the Iranian gov.? If so, I doubt it … I think the Iranian gov. support BTC mining there as they need capital in Iran that they can use for trade – because the US and allies have them under serious trade sanctions that lock them out of the international banking cartel system.
