What’s up today? (Part 1)

A question for Rustaceans:

Oh no, google (youtube, twitter, facebook…) do not get to play that “it’s a private company” we can censor all we like card anymore. In a Corporatist System Of Government, Corporate Censorship Is State Censorship.

In a corporatist system of government, wherein there is no meaningful separation between corporate power and state power, corporate censorship is state censorship. Because legalized bribery in the form of corporate lobbying and campaign donations has given wealthy Americans the ability to control the US government’s policy and behavior while ordinary Americans have no effective influence whatsoever, the US unquestionably has a corporatist system of government. Large, influential corporations are inseparable from the state, so their use of censorship is inseparable from state censorship.

Alternate source for those that consider medium a blight on the internet (and rightfully so IMO).

They never made it to Scotland, well not for long or far. We seem to not like invaders much in these parts. Anyway railways OK but our roads are bendy on our hills, it allowed horses carrying coal to not be killed  Love the space shuttle solid fuel tanks got limited by the tunnel, limited by the rail gauge, limited by 2 horses asses   Progress Jim but not as we know it.

Hope it is true

I sort of agree with you, but the way I see it, the core of the problem is the (corporatist) government, not the companies per se. The same goes for net neutrality. In the current system, where the government dictates who is allowed to act as a ISP, I am for rules mandating net neutrality. Ideally, in a system where government and corporations were separate, these rules wouldn’t be needed and shouldn’t be there. As it is now, though, I am for net neutrality. Maybe I’m just being too idealistic. The system is what it is, and that’s what we have to work with. So maybe we should work/vote for regulating companies like Google to not discriminate. I would, however, rather see a system of government that wouldn’t give so much power to the likes of Google, Youtube and the aforementioned Microsoft in the first place.

Now I’m going hunting to put some meat on the table, but maybe we could continue this under a different topic. It is an important one.

Must be a hoax: in the Roman Empire one kept to the right whereas as well the UK and the US (at first) had LHT ( Left-hand traffic) instituted :dark_sunglasses:

I think driving on the left started with horses.
You mount a horse from the left, if you are on a road your mounting from a pavement and the natural way to continue is on the left side of the road which is where your horse is pointing.

If a VR headset can do that, I’m pretty sure a smartphone, with non-removable Facebook built in can do the same. Nice. - Not.

Seeing Android running on an iPhone would be amusing. For those too lazy to read, this is an exploit that will allow jailbreaking, but requires physical access.

Not a complete hoax, but not entirely accurate either.

This is very good, about the ‘counterfeit capitalism’ of WeWork, Uber, Lyft, Netflix, Amazon etc - how it works, the damage it is doing and how to stop it:
