Where is this forum hosted, who pays for it and who is taking care of it?
This forum is hosted on the servers of the Discourse team, paid for by MaidSafe, administered primarily by @frabrunelle (Francis Brunelle) and moderated by a group of active community members. The safenetforum.org domain name is managed by the MaidSafe Foundation.
Here is a short history of the SAFE Network Forum:
In April 2014, @David (David Hedqvist) created this forum using the Discourse forum software, the maidsafe.org domain name and the hosting service provided by DiscourseHosting.
In July 2014, @David added @ioptio (Paige Peterson) as an admin.
In October 2014, @David announced that he didn’t have the time to take care of the forum anymore and that he was looking for someone to replace him. @frabrunelle, who had proposed himself as an admin, took over the role of @David.
In February 2015, after asking the opinion of the community, @frabrunelle changed the domain name of the forum from maidsafe.org to safenetforum.org, in order to make a clear distinction between MaidSafe the company and SAFE Network the technology.
In December 2015, the forum was moved from DiscourseHosting to the servers of the Discourse team.
In August 2016, the domain name of the forum was changed from safenetforum.org to safenetforum.org.
In March 2017, @lightyear (Benjamin Kampmann) and @neo (Rob) were added as backup admins.
