Watch this video! :)

I’m in agreement with everything he said. The outcomes aren’t totally clear, but either other nations adopt the USD as their own currency (e.g. as Ecuador and some other small nations have done) or the USD hyperinflates and is replaced by a CBDC valued at 1000x or more (basically a debt default).

I could see Japan converting to the dollar as well, but more likely would also default by converting to a revalued CBDC. From what I’m hearing in multiple reports the CBDC route seems the most likely for most nations, probably to be introduced in many places starting in the next 2-3 years.

OTOH if dollars are taken up as national currencies around the world then the US basically takes over a lot of smaller nations without the USD hyperinflating - although smaller nations currencies will hyperinflate and be toast.

China’s doing the same with it’s loans - using them to financially capture smaller nations, just as the IMF and world bank have been doing with the dollar the past half century or so. Another good video on these loans for financial capture is this one:

I’ve been trying to understand Apple’s moves and motives and it just dawned on me that they have responded to the demands of the Intelligence community. They built a way to bypass encryption. So why you think they’re doing great things with End-to-End-Encrypted iCloud, you are really being fooled.

This is more than about the how - it’s an outline of a conspiracy to do so, presented WITH EVIDENCE. Even worse, it’s not only about your deposits at the bank - it’s about pensions and other funds as well.

This seems like a movie that is a must to watch in 2023

Tiny windows 11, about 4GB ram, around 4GB size.

TBPH I don’t really see a problem with this - it’s his train set and its a suggestion, not an order.

Legal doesn’t make it ok. Like billionaires, legal but a symptom of malaise.

It was predictable though, see below.

I’ m sure we can all fill in our own missing words above.

Those who betrayed Anne Frank were acting perfectly within the laws of the land at the time.
As were those who authorised and drove the bulldozers that deolished so many Palestinian homes.
The rootless cosmopolitan scum behind the US hedge funds that rip off shoppers at Morrisons, Tescos etc etc every day are all acting “legally”.

I wanted to find a nice installation guide for “Damn Small Linux”, which requires 64MB (yes, Megabytes) of RAM, and found this video instead. A hilarious lesson for anyone interested in seeing how “normal people” use software.

17:13 → Mum: “Maybe if you just keep clicking them randomly you’ll eventually get there”.

Anyway, even less specialised and quite fleshed out OSes like Lubuntu run on ~500MB of RAM, or less. 4GB of RAM and 4GB of disk space are only Super Lite compared to Super Ridiculously Oversized OSes like regular Windows, which the guy in the video above claims can use 4GB of RAM while idling in Windows 7…

I run XFCE on devuan linux - not the lowest mem footprint by any means, but pretty decent for what you get.

There is a new windows version that is apparently pretty good here too:

Although I’m not a windows fan, so won’t be trying it.

there is no point in so much striped down win 11… the thing is that windows is made to “just work” and it needs lots of those functions that are striped down… I would be more interested for an ISO that has preapplied O&O Shutup and other such utilites so its usable but more private

Use case is a cheap low-power machine it seems.

This morning there was an international Press Conference in front of the Great Pyramid of Egypt and a major new discovery has now been announced.

The news comes from the ScanPyramids Project, which many of you will be familiar with, a team of scientists who used cosmic muon technology to locate voids and spaces inside the Great Pyramid, who discovered a large void above the grand gallery in 2017 and a smaller void behind the entrance chevrons in 2016.

The new discovery is regarding the entrance corridor, and not only has it been confirmed by five different scientific methods, an endoscope also went into it just 6 days ago and we have pictures!

This video was shot long before the recent collapse we have seen with SVB bank and the impact that it has had on USDC. One thing is for sure, regulators are going to use this as even more of a reason to crush stablecoins .
