Problem is we are bleeding to another project “Safetrade” with the currency “Safecoin” and ticker “SAFE”.
I have never had iPod, but based on laptops, I would say the reason for their success is not (solely) the marketing. They just work so damn well, look good, and are easy to use. I have never used Windows or Linux machine that would match the effortlessness, tidiness and general lack of problems of Mac. But of course I have never had a machine of the same price level, so there is a bias I admit.
(Right now I have two laptops that were priced around 1000€ new, and the other one doesn’t go to sleep properly when I close the lid. It also has camera on the bottom edge of the screen, not at the top. Not the best angle to most human faces
The other one has too sensitive trackpad that is placed in a bit awkward position. I would expect better design in this price range too, even though it is below MAC prices.)
Did iPod have this same UX + design edge over other products, or were the other products as good to use, too?
There is no way to reserve a ticker, so it’ll have to wait until go time.
Someone already has.
It doesn’t matter - there can be many tokens with the same name if they are in different blockchains. Their products are unlikely to last long anyway. The real Safe is here to stay, so let’s take what is ours.
Privacy. Security. Freedom
yes, just pick what you want. You can try to find an unique ticker, but after you someone else can use that ticker as well. So you end up in the same situation…sharing tickers
I don’t think there is any need to be dishonest. In fact tell the truth because it is much more explosive. There are so many examples of hacks, manipulation, etc on the internet that it wouldn’t be difficult to show what is really happening and then show a solution.
Elastos did a great short video that gets a message out very well and is about the same topic as Safes:
If there was a Safe Network clone, how would it be if it used SAFE and Safe Network used SNT?
The likes of BW and XCalibra, not on your list? Too risky? I appreciate these are small exchanges of course
Back on the whole marketing debate, I never fail to think about how Chipotle never advertised themselves. I mean, maybe they did in very small/indirect ways. But to me it seems like the most successful mainline organization that benefited from the marketing of not marketing (to say nothing of plain word of mouth). There’s a real sense of coolness to that, for me. Maybe it’s less feasible these days, if only for a collectively changing philosophy.
@moderators, can the comments on this thread that aren’t related to the P2PB2B listing be moved elsewhere? This one can go too.
From Chipotle’s 10K “Advertising and marketing costs are expensed as incurred and totaled $158,570, $141,567 and $111,695 for the years ended December 31, 2020,
2019 and 2018, respectively.” Chipotle spends ~$110M to $170M on marketing each year.
I’m afraid the moderators don’t have the time to even carefully read every post, and organizing them all thematically isn’t really possible. We try, but there is just so much we can do.
Why not just use SN?
