Things That Would Not Have Happened On Safe

Who would have thought?!

Again regardless of whether you think this is Good/Bad doesn’t matter. The fact is Google/Youtube is censoring people.

Maybe not for that specific reason, SAFE needs its own version of safetube where the creator has their own collection of media and the SAFEtube allows searching, promotion, etc of the collective creators. And thus SAFEtube is not responsible for the material, the creator is and the creator is responsible for consequences of the material and promotion of that material. The APP provides the method for them to make the channel, upload to their own collection and to promote their material. Thus its like any other utility APP and not responsible for what people do with it nor is controlling any material.

10 posts were split to a new topic: Nonsense questioning

How does it allow for promoting without spamming or violating privacy? Is that paid push? Surely any channel would have zero access to people who hadn’t downloaded the app on the network and access only through the app?

And surely other apps would have otherways of functioning? I hate promotion and ads because I view them as theft and preemption and an aggregate evil. Shouldn’t search be enough without maleware barrel scraping demand creation push? Allow it to be built into the system and the next thing there is attention enclosure and sunk cost loss of commons.

What they currently have is a blackmail engine
and they use it to keep from bring prosecuted.
They fear encryption not just because it gives people the privacy they need to have a voice but even more so because it provides for transparency. No state should ever be allowed secrecy because its a cancer that will metastasize. It will always be some crap about national security and they can’t be questioned and they are above the law and the law then just becomes a means of oppression. They don’t want encryption because they know they get doxed and since they’ve been spying on everyone they know it could all get dumped into the open. There was a South Park episode on such a scenario.

They like Amazon and they’ve used Bezos company to build a lot of their broken stuff. Do the they spy on Bezos- he had some texts dumps recently or something like that, Trump thought Obama had wired his tower and Angela Merkle found they were spying on her. And Hillary’s emails were backed up by the NSA so they were stored on gov computers after all- how could she have not known? NSA hired Hacker Team and had been back dooring them was it for maybe a couple decades. A lot of the stuff the US is doing it seems to accuse China of and condemns China for. When it came to Snowden they grounded the Ecuadorian head of state’s plane to try to get at him. They seem to have kinapped the head of a Huawei’s daughter- because what (?) because it allowed Chinese spying or because it prevented US spying or both? The governments defense for the case brought against it by the ACLU was that the people didn’t have standing because they couldn’t prove anything- utterly idiotic. Snowden could have dumped it all and confirmed it some other way and because of encryption it seems plausible even if they had him in court by their own perverse logic they would have to lose because encryption could well mean they couldn’t prove anything.

There was one thing Snowden referenced in his book that struck me as odd. He said the NSA’s suck it all down site Utah (store it all not just meta data) was composed of 4 chambers 25,000sqft each. That makes no sense because its 1/63 the size of the largest data center, its not even large by sqft but its going to store the clearnet output or a useable approximation permanently? It does have its own grid and power source but wouldn’t it need to equal thr storage of all the other data centers in the world? Do they have some new storage tech. Apparently Ira Gus Hunt hinted they have something special.

The channel could have

  • a schedule
  • maintain a list of videos that people can access to see whats on the channel
  • users when running their player APP it checks for latest videos on each channel they are subscribed to.
  • or some other innovative method.
  • maybe channel can send messages to users who supply a message address (APP sets it up). The player APP writes to the channel’s subscription data object, and can delete it in future.

As to advertising as a way to promote their channel then I would expect that it would be a submission to an advertising site where people if they want choose to go there. That sort of advertising is acceptable to me.

Under ‘other innovative method’: I am curious to see if the whole idea of liking and commenting which we have now can be channeled into something which rates content more robustly and categorises it in a way that can be useful to users, without shady algorithms and paid content and censorship of any kind. It seems like humans love commenting and liking, but at the moment that desire is being talked about by companies in terms of ‘how many clicks can we get to increase ad revenue’, and on SAFE it’ll instead be APP developers saying ‘how can I use this fact to make my site better, more fulfilling, for users’… what kind of sites will we see if that is the kind of motivation developers will likely have.

This guys channel wouldn’t be under such heavy reviewing and can anybody explain why his videos are being reviewed blocked so hard?

Me too. And its where I think transparent level playing field general search can help as well.

It is interesting with Amazon right now. They have a store front. If there was ever a place push would be acceptable it would be in a store front. But they are also messing up because in money grubbing they get confused about who their actual customers are and take money (not related to actual purchase) from spnosors, sub stores and suppliers. To me this weakens them and sets them up for competition as it comes with influence that is felt internally in ways that weaken their store. I strongly suspect this undue influence is part of what has weakened their customer review system. They are injecting counter productive noise into the feed back mecanism on their true customer relationship which harms it. I suspect this might have to do with careerism and inter-departmental conflicts.
Bezos himself should have rejected this conflict of interest, it leaves them vulnerable.

Wonder if he has become a person on some stupid list within the intelligence community and they consider him a dangerious influencer and have decided to cut down his exposure for their own arbitrary or even racists reasons. Or same type of thing could be a grudge or vestigial cast system within Google. If he were suddenly discovered to be a friend of a Google founder
would likely reverse, but why should that matter?
But notice it is not appropriate for advertiser- what does that have to do with anything? That is so wrong but it is the censorship core of sponsored mediums- and that unjust privilege is the message of the medium. Seems Google has encroached too much on the public commons, needs to face charter revocation.

can’t help but think about this thread https://forum.autonomi.community/t/doing-business-in-oppressive-countries/31696/48. This is why I can’t go to China. Within 1 hour I would be complaining openly about the government/police cause that’s just how I am lol.

Scrolling down that Twitter thread, you should also be careful if you pop over the border.

maybe I should avoid superpowers because the governments of these places obviously have “super” powers. Mexico sounds nice. I hear you can just like hide out in the mountains. Although if you badmouth the cartel boss then also bad things likely happen :stuck_out_tongue:

I think ultimately anywhere there will be some power to rebel against. The SAFE network is a great tool for the freedom fighters opposing the local authorities in all cases.

I may personally go to China just to see if I can bypass all of their internet restrictions, watch porn and use Tor normally

It seems like a lot of methods online on how to do that are outdated

Well, being the President you’d have certain advantages I’d have thought.
