I think it is a good thing that people have discovered this outside of marketers and corporations. It’s something everyone should be aware of otherwise advertisers and social engineers will potentially ruin Democracy and the free market while everyone has the illusion that they make their own choices.
Advertisements in particular, but ideologies as well, have been known to influence and even dictate human behavior to irrational degrees.
Really no idea why all the conspiracy theories again and I see nothing wrong with the World Bank report or it’s intentions tbh. I just read the following extract from the report, which may put things a bit more into context:
