Sausage Network

When it comes to testing prototypes with users, we try to be as balanced as we can, but we are talking pretty small numbers here TBH. I’d say probably 55% of the participants have been women. But what we are testing in these cases are quite generic tasks really, and in small chunks, so not really informing the direction of the overall design terribly much, just correcting course in line with usability findings.

When we are considering and researching design personas though, we have been quite deliberate in trying to not just jump in to the usual stereotypes, and I try my hardest when considering user research too, which we’ve not been able to dig into with the depth I’d like to this point TBF.

There is undoubtedly a real benefit in having many more women involved in design and build the network, so I wholeheartedly welcome the introspection in this regard.

Just occurred to me Andy “sausage forum” may have been a more apt title.
I think we cant label the network as such yet.
