im not whining. i just have more respect for gavins judgement than most people who are simply implying he was dumb enough to be tricked. Did you consider weather craig / satoshi wants any credit or opportunities from the revelation? he doesnt.
Well, maybe “whining” wasn’t the right way to describe your attitude similar to that of a mama tiger when her cub is threatened ![]()
- You really, absolutely, don’t know.
- He would get it anyway, and he knows.
I’m still inclined to believe him, but happy to wait and see. Here Craig White explains why he went to Gavin first and why he thinks that was both a courtesy, and an important part of the proof. This makes total sense to me, much more than what has been said against him.
Anyway, judge for yourself:

Yup, and yesterday he posted on that blog explaining how signatures work only to provide a stolen sign from a transaction in the blockchain from 2009. Why would the real Satoshi do something like that? Making it look as if he really signed something new with a sign from 2009??
Satoshi is the designer of the world’s first working cryptographic money. Why would somebody of that intellectual magnitude miss the detail that all the proof he needs is a single signature, one which he can trivially provide if he really is who he says he is? ![]()
EDIT: WHY AM I STILL ON THIS #$@# THREAD???
@Tim87 indeed, why are we
it is a fascinating laboratory for me. I think people have idealised Satoshi Nakamoto so much they can’t accept he’s actually an ordinary human - one who might be a bit messed up, even sloppy, or playing games. Anything but the Satoshi who they love so much they can’t accept would not fit their expectations so badly. Fascinating!
I want him to be a 17yo girl from Manila.
good point but all is still to be revealed
i see it the exact same way you do. We are all human at the end of the day.
he has tax issues and showing off to the public about how many bitcoin you have is not the best idea when his companies are under audit for a 54 million dollar rebate for r&d.
I think nobody can say a word on the personality of Satoshi or that team. A group of students from India? Two woman from Bulgaria? 3 bright and silent minds from the US? I’m not really idealizing. Some say it doesn’t matter who “he” is. I think it does. Quite interesting what more ideas that person/group has. Same for the inventor and devs from some upcoming anonymous encrypted network. It’s not live yet and still we’re having fun here for 2 years with our PtP, chunks and more. I would love to see the ideas from a bright mind like Satoshi as well. And if someone claims to be Satoshi and comes up with weird “proof” I really doubt it’s helpful to anyone. And remember, CW says he came out to protect his friends and family, but at the same time he’s taking down Gavin Andresen and others credibility. How is that helpful?
i do agree this is a lot of pressure for gavin to take on. i also believe craig will realize this and will prove he is satoshi nakamoto in the next 48 hours. Why is he leaving us all in suspense? maybe he’s enjoying it? maybe he thinks satoshi doesn’t owe the world anything? maybe he thinks he doesn’t want any credit? maybe hal finney was the true brains behind the experiment? maybe he’s a hypnotist that tricked gavin into believing something that’s not true? there’s a million and one outcomes. The most likely being he is a private person that wants to be left alone to work in peace on what he invented.
Or maybe the real Satoshi asked CW to make a fool of everyone because s*he loves to have fun with fanboys and gals.
nick szabo hole twitched in that first video with craig wright. It was funny reaction from nick when craig questioned weather the ethereum devs understand bitcoin. Nick was trying to get rid of the microphone but no one around him wanted to take it. He responded with short closed ended answers and cowardly didn’t want to debate bitcoin with craig.
Until he actually would like to buy anything with them / use them in any way lol
I can’t for the life of my understand how so bright individuals are so easily fooled. They are the “flag bearers” of critical thinking. But they let a fraudster trick them into believing that he created the very thing they are “experts” in. Think about it… It’s ridiculous.
If Sathosi wanted to prove his identity he would do so in the most transparent and no BS manner, obviously. The fact that Satoshi sends out NDA’s and present questionable proof to a few selected third parties as “good enough” says everything you need to know. (The irony is almost to much)
Sure, maybe this guy was involved early on, but if so he is taking credit for what a friend who now must be dead achieved. This is the only scenario which places this guy within Bitcoin in any way.
As this wasn’t enough the consider this:
-
He continuously tried to imply he was Satoshi several times by statements such as “I try to keep a low profile” and “I was a miner very early on”.
-
He claims to have a super computer, one of the best in the world, but has provided no proof of said computer. And evidently anyone can add a computer to the official “super computer list” without any fact checking.
-
I remember reading that a lot of the information in the guys linkdin profile was fake “$200 internet certificates” simply there to make him look way more credible and knowledgeable than he is. (He then deleted his linkdin page…)
-
He has yet to say 1 smart/genius in depth thing about Bitcoin or anything else crypto related. Think about that. supposedly he is Satoshi but he has yet to make a single insightful comment…
-
The proof he has submitted, which he did in the most non-transparent way possible, has already been put under serious doubt.
-
Even the blog posts this guy has made, which contains at least some technical and deeper thought are practically copied from other writers, as proven today on reddit.
-
There are so many ways the real Satoshi could prove his identity if he wanted to, fully transparent, leaving zero doubt. Not only that, this is the way Satoshi would have done it if he had a desire to do so. Satoshi would not drag out the process for months, while continuously saying “I don’t want attention” followed up by questionable proof and zero contribution to Bitcoin.
I’m not sure. He could just start an offshore company and use the funds anonymously. If anybody knows more about how to do it, please let me know the details for when I’m filthy rich and need this sort of thing ![]()
? But the blockchain
Everyone would see them moving and freak out
the only thing that is bothering me is craig claims he has already sold some of his original bitcoins. why didnt anyone notice satoshis coins move.

I’m not trying to defend his claim (as you already know, I’m fairly convinced he’s a fraud) but this doesn’t prove anything. Let’s say, he sold his coins from the genesis block. Those coins were sent to this address: 12c6DSiU4Rq3P4ZxziKxzrL5LmMBrzjrJX; we can see it’s “unspent.”
However, what if he just gave the private key for that address to this person, who (the clueless idiot he was, or out of trust or courtesy) didn’t transfer the coins to his own, privately generated address as of yet?
Again, I’m not saying that’s what happened, but I’m not willing to cry “PROOF!” when we don’t have one, no matter which way; I’m awesome like that hahaha ![]()
