SAFE Network TEST 9 + SAFE Mail Tutorial

Clearnet: Bullhorn to the public.

Safenet: Tin to tin communication?

Pressing on the refresh icon (Fetch appendable data) to load new messages I get:

Get Appendable Data Length Error
Request failed with status code 400

Exactly! But even if average Joe reads that it does not hit home. When I think of just about everyone I know they barely “get” clearnet so how do they know the need for Safenet. It seems to me the biggest barrier to adoption is ignorance and general ambivalence.

All people want to see these days is memes. How about creating counter-culture propaganda art and memes?

Something like this.

Which is the forum timezone? I’m guessing UTC+1… not sure.

No cats! Whyy??? :sob:

Entering the new world …

Maybe one day, you can tell your grandchildren: “I was there”.

Awesome! :grinning:

I agree this is significant for the safenetwork. . But I have come to understand that a great many don’t care if someone listens to their conversations because they dont have anything to hide. Those that want to hide have options. Telegram is wildly popular and way too easy to use. Their secret chat has self destructing messages.

IMO Safenet will compete in the messaging arena when they have a suite of apps that messaging can compliment.

Very cool.

Really starting to roll. Guess it’s time to make it go right to get out some podcasts.

Thanks for your videos David. I didn’t have to have it (that’s how I know the interface is getting easier!) but your video is great for referring others to.

Love the email app. Needs a reply button, though.

Boehoe, now I get this “Failed to create Core structure” error, whenever I start it up. I promise I will stop spamming :persevere:

:sob:

P.s. people be super careful with @anon81773980, he is a kittenapper (@griz I’m stealing money from my friends and family to pay the ransom). :cat2: :sob:

Oooh keee this is another stupid idea, but shoulden’t we MAIL the mail providers like, Protonmail (these guys keep their own servers in Switzerland, it’s the thing that cost them the most money, consequently there customers. They even got ddosed). Mailpile, Darkmail, Hushmail. Just to name a few, they already got their brand and I believe these people could really improve the mail experience on the SAFE Network.

Mail is working again luckily

here is the proof incriminating grizly :bear:

My spam has arrived as requested! Three lots of spam, one of porn and one of Viagra (but not my $5m sadly - I’m sure it’s on its way though)
How exciting!
Truly this thing is ready for the big time now.

This is an interesting case in point. While this is only one small element of the grand safe net vision, it is something which is actually useful right now.

OK, the servers are all run by maidsafe, currently. OK, the client needs work… but, this is a nucleus of something marketable. I don’t think it should be taken to market at this point, but I think it is important to realise it could be (especially to would be investors).

Yes, I was being slightly tongue in cheek, i.e. spam = the internet proper, but you’re right on both counts. It’s a visible indication of what is going to be possible and as such is genuinely exciting but it’s just a taster, It’s certainly not ready for the mass market. All sorts of things need to be sorted out first (vaults, routing, Safecoin, UI) but it’s great to see things moving on so fast.

I notice the setup tutorial is geared for Fedora Linux in particular and not for Windows. Also you might want to add a guide or link to a guide on how to use git if you’re going to use it a lot for these tutorials or anything else. And again such things need to be cross platform supported.

I create a few links in my local newspaper, about SAFE Mail

Again my city know about this :kissing_heart:

The early adopters will be those who understand. Just make it easy to use. Then the rest will follow in due time.
