register works but proxy dosent ![]()
I still can’t reregister. Tried on linux and windows. Same hanging issue.

Well we were expecting glitches galore.
yea probably gotta wait til early next week for some fixes
I can’t confirm this from my side. Registration works fine here.
(Ubuntu 15.10)
Edit:
I was even capable of adding a new page: http://feb2716.safenet/
I just registered a new account also. I’m using Windows 7.
register works now for me
do you know when that is planned and what will be supported?
i and some friends are working on a project and we were thinking of using a combination of evm and maidsafe for it, but i dont think eth is capable of doing some of the things we need on the logic side (at least not anytime soon)
Well it just keeps hanging for me.
getting ‘This webpage is not available’ on all apps i try to use…the registration process made the hard-to-make-more-impossible Ethereum frontier solidity install seem simple…pining for the microsoft hello world days
I’m still unsure about the proxy thing. I have downloaded the launcher, registered, all good there. But can’t figure out this proxy thing. Whats with the address and .pac file? Do I need to install something into chrome, change some settings and whats with the URL? I am using chrome on Win8. Firstly when I try open the .pac file, win8 does not know how to open it and directs me to the win app store then when I try to go via the chrome settings it doesnt let me do anything in the ‘settings’…
.Pleeeeeeeeease heeeeeeeeelp!
I have read all that, still makes no sense to me, I am not sure if something is missing in the instructions and I am not experienced enough to know what to do intuitively or what… Like I say I have dl’d the .pac file 5 times now, web proxy server is enabled in the launcher, followed the instructions for chrome settings and nothing seems to work. Where it says “choose settings if you need to configure a proxy server for a connection” in googles networks settings, this button is not enabled and i can not click it as in the image above.
You do not need to open the pac file.
The screenshot you posted, hit the “LAN settings” button and you should see a screen such as:
Just have the tick boxes as in the image selected and the Address field should be: http://visualiser.maidsafe.net/safe_proxy.pac
Hit “OK”, and you should be sorted(well you need to have the launcher running and logged in ofc).
You may be using a linux variant that sets the proxy systemwide. There will be a control panel. However You can get a proxy switcher form the google-app store if you want. We should probably supply one actually, I tried switchysharp and it works fine. You maybe can try that.
You also do not need to download the pac file, just enter the whole url to it in the box that says auto config url
Hope that helps
Haha YES! You da man!
OK I got it. Seems like we might need to write our own tutorials for each browser to help other non-techies like me!
Really!? What was difficult about it? You pick a pin, pick a username and pick a password. Bam done.
All good @Jason_Vivier helped and it worked. I just got stuck in the tutorial. Instruction kind of just assumes I should know to click on LAN setting when I was thinking I had to amend the proxy settings. I am happy to write a new one with screen shots or add to it but then we’d need new ones for each browser maybe.
I was having success. But now it’s saying log-in failed, for me. Tried all variations of my password. (Since it’s only alphanumerical with no special characters, I had to think of an alternative to my usual.) My phrase should be correct. My PIN is correct. I don’t get it?
Tried restarting Launcher… though only once, will try multiple times. (But now I have 4 potential passwords to figure out, thanks to this newly found doubt brought about by sudden log-in failure.)
edit: just made a new account. Well that’s odd. But I’m good again.
