SAFE Network Client Testing Commences

You’re in the upload folder function.

If you are on Mac OS, than only way it will work is to create new service (new, unused service name) and upload your whole folder that contains index.html of your page. Dev @Krishna_Kumar already confirmed that file chooser in Demo app has a bug which does not allow you to select a single file.

i was unable to upload successfully a dir full of several small image files

where should be go to make feature requests?

for example i think it would be very helpful to have a “print” button at the end of the account creation to save a pdf or txt file with the info. i already forget the keyword to one account

Use a password manager!

I would suggest keepass. Ports for mac, windows, linux, iOS and android IIRC. That’s a LPT more than a feature request though. I would assume that any feature requests should go through github. But as this is just a demo version, I don’t know what priority that would have…there are plenty of features that are missing in this demo release that will be included in the beta.

Is it down at the moment? I can’t connect with anything. My launcher works, but the demo app gives up on me and .safenet links are dead to me as well. It worked well an hour ago.

Pen & paper works too

It’s not a hack, it’s barely social engineering. It’s more like natural selection.

We need a “IS IT DOWN” site to update us on the status.

I honestly don’t think that it’s down…the launcher is just an alpha release. bugs galore. Did you try turning it off and back on again? (three or four times? - and yes that’s serious)

EDIT: I just accessed it so it’s up

Yea but for the testing phase when everything will be reset every so often the pen and paper is safe enough.

I just picked a 2 word keyword and ‘1’ tacked on the end. the password is the first word with a ‘1’ on the end It really doesn’t matter at this stage, I hope noone is uploading sensitive data that if your kids find the credentials it will matter in the least.

Is there something like this for chrome? I still can’t work it out but then again I been working out in the sun all day and drunk about a dozen coldies. I remember someone saying this was going to be simple for the dummies like me… maybe just cos it’s the test version? Think i’ll wait it out. Thanks

thanks i set up an account, but i do not see where it is possible to log a ticket/issue

Try the link I posted again, the page should have a link you can click.

Password management is definitely is widely discussed area in the the security professionals field - the guys whose job it is to deal with all types of users’ security.

If you started a thread regarding the topic of general password management for the Network and suggested your idea (perhaps in the ‘features’ category) I would be happy to discuss the implementation and security concerns of yours and various password management solutions.

i’m sure there will be a way to integrate software like that with some sort of API for the account creation process. my concern is just for individual users (not corporate) who will download this and just need to be reminded that they should save their data, and perhaps give a serious warning or last chance notification.

it was my fault for not writing it down and thinking i would remember the keyword an hour later.

that said i have a rough idea of what it may be, but i will wait until the network is a bit faster as right now each attempt takes a couple minutes.

Seems to be down. I am unable to connect.

Doesn’t work at all for me :frowning: I run the safe_launcher and just get a “electron” window with nothing in it and nothing more happens. I’m on Linux Mint 17, x86_64, Kernel 3.13

Update: Tried again half an hour later and everything worked
