SAFE.EXCHANGE voting is insecure!

Correction to some of the things mentioned beneath, thanks @neo for pointing them out. Only Daniel voted insecurely and the voting proposal was stopped 2 days ago and will maybe return at a later stage. The 1% to 99%, is correct because everybody else was saying yes continue with blockchain.

@dallyshalla I post my message here, because I’m still not able to just login to safe.exchange.

Somehow you keep thinking that playing with blockchain and clearnet is the way to go. Well our
first vote on safe.exchange is a disaster, people voting are risking getting their privatekeys stolen.

The reason why?
Look at the voting addresses: http://vote.safe.exchange

There is totally no HTTPS, meaning attackers can snoop on and steal data going through. IMHO this is something that would have NEVER happened on the SAFE Network. All the people that have voted, risked their data being compromised.

I’m no security expert and it’s probably my fault in the first place to ask to vote, but this is a serious security issue. This is not an attack on you or the people bravely voting yes “let’s continue with blockchain”. I found out today (about the missing https) while giving the voting site a second inspection.

I HOPE THAT NOBODY BLAMES DANIEL FOR THIS SECURITY ISSUE, BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT YOU ALL ARE VOTING YES FOR. With the SAFE Network you got security provide by default.

But you didnt Upload your private Key, did you? So you should be fine.

No luckily I didn’t, I did it my way (my 1 no vote against 99 yes votes):

Luckily the voting mechanics is also complex, so not many people voted
those who did need to move their coins from their privatekeys.

This not a good start, but it clearly shows how vunerable the current systems
are and we’re not even talking about the securities of blockchains and if Daniel
with his team will be able to keep up.

I’m willing to even give 10% of my SEC to see this project return back to the
SAFE Network where it belongs, but 1% against 99% tough luck getting it done.

But those who still want to support blockchain and clearnet, let this be a warning
that you can loose all your coins playing on that playground.

Never found the voting APP anyhow.

You can vote here (but don’t :no_entry:)

Repeat the APP is not there, so cannot vote, that is why its been the 38million since the start, only Daniel voted. He has called it off anyhow

The voting APP was never there, it seems they were not “pushed to the site”

Are these bis private sec? I dont understand why he is allowed to vote? 38 mil sounds like a lot, how much did he pay for it?

Hmmmm I should have looked better :stuck_out_tongue: nevertheless security is super important and the starting point.

He holds SEC so he can vote as well.

He paid nothing to cast that vote, voting is for free.

I did pay 100 euro’s to cast my vote, because I send btc to the Maidsafecoin address. :stuck_out_tongue:

@dallyshalla I’m not selling my SEC, but you’ll see what the SAFE Network is worth within 2 years, hopefully for this project everybody will stay that loyal to safe.exchange.

I’m wondering if they are his private coins or the project’s coins.

I mean, how much were they worth at the crowdsale?

Didn’t the crowdsale documents say he kept 1% of the 2^31 coins for himself? Approx 20 million
