This is a placeholder topic spurred by Meetup.com
looking for ways to monetise its monopoly position (summarised here).
A SAFE Meetup App would gain its network strength by being available to all users of SAFE without additional signup. It could be free, or use small contributions / fees from users and/or organisers to fund app development. Using and open data format, different apps could compete for users without them being locked in to a particular app. This is the Solid/RDF model, so developers could capitalise on both users of Solid, and SAFE by building for Solid, (see Solid on SAFE Updates), or they could make a SAFE specific version.
