Project Decorum - Crowdsale (Ended)

The whole point is that you need your private keys, which you usually don´t controll in the case of an exchange. If the coinbase support helps you out, you will probably be fine, but it will be some additional work for them which they are not supposed to do, so as far as I see you have to rely on their good will…

Can’t you just delay the transfer of PDC to the addresses for which some users claim that they made a mistake?Just wait a few days, weeks and if nobody else is claiming to have used that addresses you could transfer the PDC anyway? That way you only had to think about another solution when more than one person claims to have used a specific address

crowdsale is finished but where are the coins? I can’t find anything in my wallet. do you have plans for exchange?

do we have a bitcointalk thread ?

I think a list of how many coins go to who is published first, then the coins will be send.

Indeed, stay tuned for this!

Got one: https://twitter.com/Project_Decorum

Haven’t used it yet though.

Not sure yet, will let you know when I know more.

Unfortunately this would open up a potential attack against me. The purchase agreement is a contract, and someone could trick me into breaking it and pretending they lost their coins as a result, and then drag me to court (and likely win).

Do you know the total contributed (in maid) and the conversion you’re using from btc to maid?

The conversion is calculated per BTC transaction, using the past 24 hour BTC/MAID weighted average from Poloniex exchange. Can’t give an exact value at the moment.

I also made the mistake of sending 1 BTC using my coinbase wallet. On the coinbase website they say you don’t need your private key because you can sign a message on an address instead. Is there anyway i can get the bitcoin back? Really wish this had been explained earlier and i really wish coinbase didn’t say in there help fourm that you don’t need your private key because you can sign and its the same thing but i guess not.

I just wanted to say felicitation with your succesful crowdsales @Seneca and keep up the good work :stuck_out_tongue:

@cg43879 did you read this below? Goodluck

HA! looks like i was right…twice! So much for the warning that ended up serving so little to its purpose. a few more helpful words couldn’t hurt, would it? Such as suggesting to use mycelium wallet OR omniwallet and sending it from there. Don’t lecture me on how perfect your warning is. There is always ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT!

Oh and don’t worry about me, i already improved myself from this experience. But i guess the creator of Decorum won’t. I mean, apparently there were so many chances to improve the warning message at the bottom of the crowdsale page. like change color to red instead of some yellow-orange or CAPITALIZING one or two words to show strong emphasis or learning to type some personal message like this: “For some reason, i am still getting people who still sent it from an exchange. i strongly emphasize to NOT send it from an exchange!! Do NOT send from an exchange. Or you will most likely WON’T be able to receive your PDC!”

When there is a strong emphasis on any sort of danger, people will think twice and be more aware and be more cautious. And even better if you put a strong emphasis on a recommendation like using mycelium or omniwallet.

its only human to respond in this manner when after putting a warning message to not send from an exchange and people still do. AND when people still do, its only more natural to improve one’s warning message on the crowdsale page. BUT NO IMPROVEMENT WAS DONE!

Well, whatever. just here to report that BitX is unable to help me in any way at all. And i just checked that BitX Wallet doesn’t have a feature to sign messages. So I wish the 2 folks all the best in claiming back their bitcoins or claiming their PDC.

Always room for improvement as you say. We have all had to learn to check before pressing the buy button. We have all made mistakes and lost money. Thankfully most of us learn from it and move on without having temper tantrums.

now
website is down?online again Lol

i will improve on that too. like i said EARLIER, NO WORRIES about me! afterall, this is my first and it shall be my last. HA! clearly missing the point i was making about how UNCARING the creator of decorum is when after encountering people with issues here and not doing any improvement to the warning in the crowdsale page. I improved on 1 chance. But after so many chances and even after my case, the creator of decorum still choose to not improve!!!

in the back of anybody’s head, it will be "WTH! people still send bitcoins from exchanges!? Don’t they know how to read??? Hmm…but this isn’t the first time that is happening. Maybe i need to do something more. maybe change font size to even bigger or use red color words, etc.

BUT in the back of the creator’s head, its this - " Ohhhhhhhhhhh DAMN. Never mind! Can’t be help i guess. Just let it happen! =D"

Well guess what. APPARENTLY even after my case, still nothing was done to improve! OMG! Hence the reason why i am typing here. otherwise i wouldn’t. And to borrow the comment from another person who typed earlier about improving crowdsales, regarding using Counterparty or Omni platform. APPARENTLY, even after a few years, no improvement! well…im glad OTHER ICOs did improved to allow crowdfunders to create accounts and has 2FA and escrow. over here, after some OBVIOUSLY unfortunate events, no improvement.

don’t fud you made a mistak… don’t blame others

HA! CLEARLY MISSING THE POINT! Allow me to CORRECT YOU!

i am not here to FUD. Please, do continue to invest in Decorum. the project alone is the first reason why i am here in the very first place. so please do invest. There is nothing to fear, nothing to be uncertain, and nothing to doubt about Decorum. The Project is worth investing.

BUT regarding the creator, i only say this: don’t expect him to be helpful to anybody. he is most likely a person who will, without a doubt, be committed to Decorum. But clearly lacking in being committed to helping people with their depositing issues.

i do blame myself, and i ALSO blame others. nothing wrong with that. Because that is the the TRUTH! But at least for me, i bother to improve. the creator of Decorum still doesn’t, even after all my feedback. He could have save the 2 folks after me

im done here. and done with people who don’t know how to reason with me.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE:
once more, all the best to the 2 folks who sent from Coinbase. i dont want to take up all the space in this comment section. DO help them…Thank you. And don’t lecture them.

I prefer the guy who went through 100% of the trouble regarding this really good idea than some power-tripping individual typing paragraphs and paragraphs and paragraphs about one problem. Spoilers: no one’s perfect. I wouldn’t be surprised if people actually spent less time on the problem at hand in the future out of spite after reading an out-of-control person relent on it. Congrats: time to learn from a new mistake—find nicer ways to suggest really good solutions.
