Privacy and Crypto Currency are Hot

I’m not sure it even needs to be for digital agencies, having coming from that world I tend to prefer freelancers. As I say I’m working on some thoughts on how we might do this and will revert back shortly.

We need to make sure we don’t fall into the mistake of rushing to communicate (although it’s a lot of fun and I’m enjoying seeing all the creative) by pulling the graphics together before we have established the brief: what does the currency stand for, what are the main features we want to try and get across (speed, anonymity, network generated…etc…), how and where it will it be used…etc…

There are sites that specialise in running design competitions or we can run one ourselves, lots to think about.

I think “privacy, security, freedom” resonates pretty well. whether it’s for the
network or for the coin.

Come to think of it: these 3 words would fit nicely along the 3 sides of a
triangle as well…

I dislike triangles for anything, I think I’ve overdosed on them whilst researching symbolism…and they’ve become synonymous with ‘Triple entry accounting’ i.e blockchain…they look imposing on the ethereum black shirts though.

I do like the wee plane with the banner though, something about that

The talk about the currency is what could be troublesome; “Another Atlcoin” mentality is a major reason why MaidSafe had not been so thoroughly accepted by the mass community of Bitcoins. Knowing that SafeCoin is just only one slice of the whole project; therefore, the coin will retain its awe in terms of being the denominator for useful computational power.

I agree that it’s important to differentiate from bitcoin if that’s possible in this context, but it’s something we always need to be ready to point out.

My favourite is to express how bitcoin can run within MaidSafe. Safely.

Bitcoin has an aspect to it that could be generated on print. If a person prints out a private key it is now tangible. The same item could be stored in SAFE Network, and be accessible from anywhere. Your paper can be stolen, burned, read… etc; If your private key to bitcoins is stored on the SAFE Network they are accessible to you anywhere, this far exceeds any of any of the other digital methods of storing a bitcoin private key.

I’ll start a new thread and start the discussion about how we best proceed from here.
