Hmm, I can’t think off the top of my head why the install script shouldn’t be working.

I’m actually working on revamping the install process at the moment. Will be getting into it in more detail next week.

Please remember, the whole node command is due to be removed soon, in favour of working directly with the sn_node binary.

Also, unfortunately these recent releases have not been built with the new data-network feature enabled, so the CLI won’t have the files command. I will get the release process updated for that.

I know it could be done with alias, but have you considered renaming this now it will be a command to avoid the underscore?

A couple of possibilities: snode, snn

Yeah, I would also prefer to have the binary without either underscore or hyphen (most actually use hyphens rather than underscore), but I hadn’t really thought of a name.

Me personally, I would be ok with snode.

Or simply safenode

Yeah, that definitely makes it more clear, but I personally think it’s nice to have a short, punchy binary name that would be distinct from safe.

node itself is too generic I would say. Plus, NodeJS actually already uses that.

nodelauncher?

Lets not beat ourselves up too much over this.

Has anyone got any STRONG objections to snode?
A short, punchy binary name that would be distinct from safe.

I myself somewhat prefer safenode but snode works as well.

I like snode short punchy and sounds like some kind of small furry mammal

I predict a debate - is it ess-node or snode as in the Lesser Reticulated Snode, Mustelidae Oneilliensis, a member of the weasel family? And a homage to Edward Snowden?

I am all in for snowden for the node binary name

launch snowden with your public IP
