Just glancing at the change looks to me like just ensuring they use the master branch as a defacto place to push stuff and build docs out of it vs a side “flemming” branch they have had. I tend to get pumped up when I see a commit that is like 20+ pages of code refactored or added and well commented out. I suppose its not healthy on a mature project to get those massive PRs though and incremental is better(but less exciting ). Maybe I am somehow wrong and a suprise flemming has appeared though ?
Performance ! Performance !
I think David said everything is being pushed into a live model. And it is being worked on in the live model. Those devs must be bloody good
I don’t think he said exactly that, but just that there are no mocked part of the network anymore. Meaning no parts that are “faking” or simulating to do stuff, but everything is actually done with real code.
So it is not like fixing a moving vehicle, just a vehicle with a real engine. When it breaks, you stop it for finxing.
I thought that’s what I said or meant. Thanks for the clarification
Good bye Parsec. You are the technical marvel of fully ordered protocol.
This is a big cleanup with impressive figures.
(not exactly a quote, but I don’t know how to show colored text other than in a diff).
even better when you consider the parsec code is no longer imported. Next functional testing, doc updates and then start to handle errors properly or more thoroughly. Latter part will happen as we go through releases though. To me that’s all about logic correctness, rust helps with code correctness, but logic correctness is on us.
- old + new
Yes, this is exactly what I did.
But I know no other way to show colors and so I couldn’t display the numbers exactly like the quote (colored texts on white background and on the same line)
@tfa It is easy, do what the early web page creators did when they wanted a specific format to show no matter which browser was being used.
Do up the doc/info in a word processor with all the colours you want and take a screen shot and use that in the web page

So, I guess i’m watching the beginning of end.
I’m going to miss the actual update later today as I will be AFK all night
So thanks in advance folks and I will look forward to reading it at some early hour tomorrow morning.
https://github.com/maidsafe looking busy, maybe there will be a juicy announcement?
a bizarre kind of first!
Pre-emptive first post? I’ll try not to make a habit of this
I’m looking forward to the Update that says " we have completed removal of Parsec". Don’t know when this will be but it will tell a non techo like me that we are close to Fleming.
I thought that work was combined with Parsec removal and listed the items here - https://github.com/maidsafe/routing/issues/2117
Interesting list there… if ticks are anything to go by, then 2/3rds the way through to “actually remove parsec”.
