It’s just a wee test site, using my dog as my muse! ![]()
Does he do doggy stuff…like actually getting off the couch and running around ![]()
Ha! When the mood takes him! Stay tuned for some action shots! ![]()
like the throwback! Nice!
Thanks for liking it!
i will try to make that site more fun on the weekend!
Are most folks leaving their SAFE Network apps running just to show their basic websites as listed here?
(I’ve built mine, but noticed it’s only live when I’m logged in to the demo app, which makes sense.)
I should be going to bed, but it’s just so fantastic to have access to this now. Kudos MaidSafe!
Nope, you misunderstood it.
Anyone who is connected can see everything that’s public.
It’s got nothing to do with whether you are connected or not.

will be online for the forseeable future!
MaidSafe test blog and gateway to my Minds.com blog aswell
also can we have the ‘Safe Webring’ banner text link to the associated url/dns? or is this because it will be changing?
Can any SEO expert here tell us if the growing number of invalid URLs (due to these links) bothers search engines and lowers this site’s ranking?

Interesting question. As the links are not posted as links, ie not clickable, then no. But it is something to consider when mixing “live” SAFEnetwork links on an ordinary website.

I don’t understand, can you explain more? Give an example?
I think they’re all recognized as URLs and link to .safenet as far as I can tell. That’s 404 in my book, but I don’t know with these new domains.
Maybe sites with Namecoin or Onion links know, although it’s hard to tell as algos change with time and it may differ from one SE to another.
How is that possible… This V0.0.1 launcher app, as far as I know, does not include the vault, which means there can not be three redundant copies of everything we upload, distributed across the world because the farming infrastructure is not live yet.
The vaults are run by the devs on the servers they rented out in the cloud. That way tehy can test the vault s/w in a controlled environment So the 6 copies are in their 50 or 100 machines
Thanks, I thought it was 4 duplicates including the original bits, but that`s probably changed since the refactoring and code base rewrite. Anyway, I think Janitor misunderstood it, what you said here about cloud storage, in lieu of vaults, makes more sense.
To be clear, the current test network is vaults running on cloud servers. We are running client apps that are storing data on that network, and accessing websites and files stored on that network. Soon we’ll be able to download and add or own vaults to that network. But not this week I think!
This isn’t related to what was discussed before so it’s hard to tell whether I misunderstood something about the vaults… But as HB observed, in this test MaidSafe takes the role of farmers and runs vaults. I haven’t seen whether or not the vaults follow the expected redundancy model, so I assume they do.
