I would also recommend everybody not to leave any significant amount of crypto on exchanges. As being said in this thread, me niether believe in Poloniex - I do not have anything there. I only trade on Bittrex and I am withdrawing any amount above 0,5 BTC.
The think what I wanted to add here is, you might notice HitBTC is officialy (according to coinmarketcap.com) the exchange number 2.
As I see it, trading is almost only faked. Some robots, all owned by the HitBTC are trading each other in order to exchange could look trustworthy. One of the reasons why I think the volume is artificial is following very nice market depth:
The reason I believe HitBTC is nothing than scam is my own experience with the exchange 4 weeks ago. I traded there AEON just becouse arbitrage... while everywhere it costed $0.70, on HitBTC it was available for $0.40. I was in hurry becouse arbitrage is usualy filled quickly by someone. I made a BTC deposite there and bought around 400 AEONs with decent discount, all WITHOUT ANY RESEARCH about HitBTC. My mistake... While deposit and trade went well, withdrawal of my AEON in 20 minutes went to the pending mode.
I said OK, I will wait for a few hours... Then I realised I am able to find just one email contact to the support so I formed a request. After nothing happened, I did it again, and started a thread on their forum: https://forum.hitbtc.com/.
No news in my case after 4 days and withdrawal transaction was still pending. I started to bomb support email on daily basis and reported to my official forum thread: https://forum.hitbtc.com/discussion/comment/1028/#Comment_1028
After 5th email to support, only robot replied like that:

I felt relieved because until that moment I thought I became a victim of a scam. After googling a little, I found out, its just an automatic reply for people who write to support a lot. I felt like a victim of a scam again... At that moment, I thought my money were definitelly lost.
Until that moment I have read a lot of posts from which was clear, they are just scammers who allow you to deposit and trade as lot as you want. After you want to withdraw, you have a problem.
After next 10 days I spend some more efford and started ostracize them on every possible social network. In less than an hour, I have got my first reply from real person. She promised to resolve my issue and after next 3 days, I eventually got my money back!
Well, nice, isnt it? Their excuse was, they had a lot of work and the forgot on me. Then a lot of sorry and everything alright? To be honest, not for me... I still think they are scammers and that they are going to close the shop soon - with all of the money of course. What I think, giving me back my few AEONs was just a tactical decision in order to make me silent and get more deposits.
What do you think? Do you believe this ugly looking exchange has for some reason really better volume on MAID/BTC, than Bittrex?
