Performance on the safe network

I read, “all files on the safe network will only be available in four copies to save space”.

What happens when all users downloads a specific file at the same time?

Is there any algorithm built in that allocates popular files to multiple nodes ?

Yes, all nodes have a Last Recently Used (LRU) cache, they cache data they see going past them. This means the number of copies grows significantly on requests of popular data. See this carate to find how that is implemented https://github.com/maidsafe/lru_time_cache
