Messaging and Social Networking on Safenet

Hi all,

I’ve not been on the forum for a long while. I have a couple of beginner questions.

1. Social Network (think Facebook Google+ and similar networks). Is Safenet a good “home” for such a thing?

2. As above but for messaging like Signal, WhatsApp, Telegram and so on.

Hi Sam, Slowly but surely. We’re currently working on a Tauri/Svelte application, which should allow us to at least re-use the entire frontend in our future web-app when we have a SAFE browser again. What we’re currently working on should be considered a proof of concept again, since so much has changed (and quite a bit is still changing) in SAFE since our releases in the past. Once we’re satisfied that we have encountered and fully grasped all of the fundamental challenges to implementation …

It’s good for any application and as soon as they’ve got the fundamentals of the network working,
safe app developers will be creating them.
