MegaNET - KimDotCom encripted network

I liked this Xanadu Project…but could be possible that every year update the Maidsafe project? The perfection is a goal that is never reached, but we always have to look for …Now, it could to solve many problems

Both is wrong. You refer to them in retrospect where you identified the market leader and point to them being dominant. It´s not what´s in the mind of the masses, it´s what is in the hand of the masses and once it is in the hands of the masses it is already leading the market - so the whole argument is kinda redundant.

Sometimes products are on the pulse of the times, sometimes they aren´t and they fail no matter how good they are. People tend to point to examples like Betamax. You could also think about the Dreamcast or Google Wave. All products ahead of time in a sense and still people didn´t adopt.

I hardly doubt that there will be a release anytime soon, and if it was it would be rather positive than negative.

“This storage platform allowed its users to store files in the Internet “cloud” and to use, if needed, online storage space and bandwidth.” The company was successful. However, millions of people from across the globe used Megaupload to store and access copies of TV shows, feature films, songs, porn, and software.

Eventually it had over 150 employees, US$175 million revenues, and 50 million daily visitors. At its peak Megaupload was estimated to be the 13th most popular site on the internet and responsible for 4% of all internet traffic."

facebook was not the first social network… friendster was, followed by myspace

The whole reason why facebook dominated is because the CIA, FEDs, and other godvernment agencies paid the facebook founder to advertise it on corporate news, internet, and pay shills to encourage people to use facebook.

If that never happened, then myspace would dominated. Myspace is still superior than facebook because of the customization.

The godvernment has money, and has power to change social physiology. Take a good look at SJW, and the left.

That reads as a centralised cloud storage mechanism with bitcoin payments of some sort.

Accessibility is a huge factor in adoption. As per the above examples alot of it had to do with having a huge influx of capital to persistently market across a wide field of advertising mediums as well as distribute the product quickly everywhere along with a giant sales force to get it into businesses.

As per this meganet vs maidsafe, ultimately kim dotcom has a known presence and whatever he does tends to gain attention, and meganet will be all clearnet, no focus of anonymity because who the hell would use an unaudited unknown network meganet when they could just use tor to access sites.

Maidsafe even with a fully working version has an uphill battle simply because its not accessible by clearnet without some mitm. Also it has to add some value to the public, something that they cant get anywhere else.

File hosting = dropbox
Anonymity network = tor
Messaging = phone/email
Instant non-blockchain crypto coin = …

Obviously it will need a distributed anonyous network to make the coin work, so maybe it will be a byproduct of the success of the coin provided they can make it work. At best the network will just be a faster version of freenet which for the most part never caught on because its inaccessbility and speed.

Ah yes I remember them. And I’m not that old.

As for the topic at hand I have yet to see anyone else come up with self encryption. That seems to be unique to the SAFE network.

Lately watched some video’s about megaupload because personally never used it.
But it was kinda refreshing to me, asking myself why he and not dozen others offering just the same services got/get seized? So in principle every cloud service allowing link sharing could be shut down. This has nothing todo with copyright but just the way it was promoted and the mass of youngsters using it imo…
He even gave access and tools to the gov services to take copyright material offline (probably without giving them account info +++ Note: Yes not everything should be free! Creators should be able to choose wether they want to commercialize or not.).
Can’t say he hasn’t balls, starting over again :grinning:
Must see his website! He filmed the raid on his personal property.

Several of those points are inaccurate.

Hey, from what I hear, Everquest was the better experience.

One million lines of code? I think SAFE is the size of DOS 1.0 the size of a modern virus, not 1 million lines of code? I think its definitely in the 10k line limit of code that most humans can cope with.

This is one of my fantasies that SAFE would spread viral like and lock the anti neutrality pro lock out bastards out of their own lock out scheme and dumb pipe them and then spread to open 5g based mesh hardware and improved IOT that could handle it viral quick to just cut the cord on them all together. At that point the people of the world could get together and tell the states and corporations and elites of the world to piss off.

Nuff said until there are more details. I’m not expecting much.
