why would you msg them? its in their interest to keep eye on development and to buy something that they feel is innovative and will change the world, I thnk all of us here believe it will one day be worth x1000 todays price. Its a 1 in lifetime chance. Take it or regret the rest of your life.

I think we are talking about 2 different things. You are talking about when we do have widespread adoption. What I am saying is we need to start growing somewhere first. People that have been in MAID in the past are good targets to find these early adopters we need to get things rolling so they CAN snowball into widespread adoption.

If the goal is reached and the anonymous decentralized network is live, we dont need to worry about adoption, it will come. It solves too many global problems that are present in todays internet. I believe David and others in this forum know some powerful people incl Tim Berners Lee. So it should be fine.

My biggest concern is that without any understanding of when Fleming will be released it is both dangerous and unwise to increase promotion of the project. When I started SAFE Network: Chicago back in 2018, the thought was that Alpha 3 (now Fleming) would be in place āvery soonā, which many understood to mean something like by the end of that year. Nearly 2 years later, itās very difficult to get or keep people excited about this project because no one knows when a usable product will be released.
We need a projected release date that we can lean on to say āhey, a viable network you can interact with will be available on this date. Get ready, whether that means learning the tech, investing, or defining a trading strategy.ā Without knowing when a release will happen, weāre better off not saying much rather than shilling false promises, IMO.

well at least you got a bunch of contacts of people that would be interested in a usable product when we have such a thing. Donāt lose those! Give em a call to update them when we get that golden dev update with a Fleming release date.

I sort of disagree. A release date would be nice, but more than that I think we need a clear set of goals that get ticked off one by one.

By release date, I donāt mean June 5, 2020 at 00:00:01, haha. What I do mean is something like, Q2 2020. I think declaring such timing would go hand in hand with clearly laying out the remaining milestones to be crossed, and being ruthlessly disciplined about whatās in/out of scope, crucial/nice to have.

Um, not sure why solving the most amount of world problems should be part of a business strategy. Regardless, Fleming also kind of is understood when it will be released: not >2020

Regarding tech adoption: the Internet is different, since everyoneās addicted to/utilizing the Internet, and there isnāt any other competition. OK I guess there is, but Iām biased as heck; but I also know that thereās groundbreaking tech here that, well, isnāt anywhere else. (I donāt bother with other Internet invention attempts because Iām naturally lazy and canāt comprehend all the tech stuff [ironicallyāsince SAFE is the most complex under the hood], or choose not to because of the focus not being what Maidsafe aims to achieve; and I havenāt felt any other Internetās presence sweeping the world yet, soā¦). Not sure when SAFE would be used professionally around the world, but thereās always quite a large grassroots first. And that is done by persuading people enough to try; and Iād imagine the 2008-2013 Bitcoin crowd would all be interested in it, as well.
All the predictions in the past were faulty. And the faultiness of today likely stems from convolution of the different release scales (Fleming, Maxwell, MVP, MVE, beyond). In relation to price, each of these should have their own price ranges. And the communityās continued over-optimism may have a leisured/easy time erroneously wishing that Flemingās price will be, say, MVE+'s price. Butā¦ each scale is still closer than ever. Iām still willing to bet even the MVE will be 2020. So thereās a high chance that a nice increase in price will happen this year, gradually. For the absurd prices people sometimes state: maybe somewhere in 2021 would start seeing them, or 2022 at the latest? (Absurd prices could be 2020 for all anyone knows.)

Itās a risk, nothing is fool proof. People should make their own decisions and research.
Shilling people you know is a very bad idea, just let them find their road to it, you risk losing friends over something that may never happen.
I poured a lot of money into this dream and itās been a very long time I have been involved with this investment.
I am still unsure when a viable network will be released, but still hopeful, just not something I believe blindly will succeed.
Itās a hail mary that has potential for exponential returns, but at the same time not inconceivable I lose it allā¦

Well I am not saying call them and say time to mortgage your house and buy MAID. Donāt even mention time to buy MAID at all. Just tell them this thing you expressed interest in now has a release date and let them make their own move based on that. @Cryptoskeptic ācloseā would be when we get that dev update with an official Fleming release date, not just some random speculation when it might be.
This convo might actually be best moved to some marketing tagged thread. I will say one more thing though. If we were a paid sales team there would be a boss that wants big numbers for his/her office. They would be breaking your back every day to go solicit whoever you can. There is no way you could just ignore a list of qualified prospects just cause maybe you call at the wrong time and they are slightly annoyed.

well I donāt know right now. What I am saying is in some future dev update they will drop a release date. When that happens I think we can be pretty confident it will happen at least close. They have been very careful not to put out dates and disappoint people. So I think we they do we can be fairly sure its the real deal.

This has not happened with past releases.
Tests and both Alphas were released without us knowing exactly when they will come.
I donāt know that there will be a date announced in advance for Fleming.

Honestly, if MaidSafe knew they were going to announce Fleming this Thurs, Iād rather they hold off and say Fleming will be released on March 1st so that preparations can be made to ensure the most supported/best promoted release possible. Much of business is dance and opticsā¦
