But bugger that, respectfully I actually wish the dev updates would cut back to fortnightly or even monthly (boo I automatically must suck now hey).
The amount of information given to the community is insane for an R&D project. Give people an inch and they’ll try to take a mile.
Every concern raised is understandable and acknowledged far more than it ever should be by both Maidsafe and knowledgeable heads like Neo.
Where in the life cycle is this project? Clearly not where many think it is.
Well…that actually is more the individuals problem and their thought processes than it is that of the project.
All bar one of these posters POV have been really interesting to read and have been generally polite in their approach, but sometimes the hardest thing to do is not just argue and state your case vehemently but ask why people have a different point of view than you.
If anyone here has worked extensively on R&D projects commercial or otherwise of this scope please fire away unabated otherwise before the next perceived issue is posted it’s probably best to measure your approach/point of view and realise most here have minimal idea of what creating something so monumental (the network) actually entails and we would be most likely off the mark even trying…any measurement your using in your head as to where things stand/how they should look is most likely wrong yes WRONG (it’s just not people’s nature to acknowledge/admit that).
In the above statement you compare Maidsafe to “cryptos” and then used civil engineering project to illustrate your opinion that you have not seen those project disclose project deliverables.
My intent is to inform you that comparing cryptos (Oranges) to Maidsafe (Apples) is not a good comparison. However, comparing civil projects would be a closer (not a direct alignment) fit. Simply by definition cryptos cannot be compared as they don’t exist as an entity.
The point: Maidsafe should be indulge the community by providing some measure of project accountability. I use the User Requirements because it is a tool that they should already have and use. Minimal additional work to inform the community.
I should of not mentioned Taxes as it added more fodder that was off-topic to illustrate the difference between cryptos and Maidsafe.
AND then proceeded to ask if crypto projects do it.
Ummm some Do. and obviously these are the ones I would be referring to as the others as you point out do not have similar characteristics
I am not sure why you have to prove me ever so wrong. I also hope/wish Maidsafe produce better roadmaps and a way to measure progress. But I also know the difficulties in R&D projects of this sort to be able to do it, yet not create disappointment when perceived deadlines are not meant. Having been involved in project management and R&D projects in decades past I know its not always easy.
Mostly I agree with all points. Applying specific dates would mostly end in disappoint. However - I believe my request for User Requirements and associated components allow the public to measure objectively where the project is. To use an analogy I posted earlier. Simply: Are we at the bottom of the Mountain Middle of the mountain, or close to the top?
Every project starts with more questions than answers, when there are less questions than answers usually means the project is over the hump and is coasting to the finish line. Is the project over the hump?
It is a R&D based project. So to take your analogy when problems occur its like adding a new mountain to the canyon. You will climb up and down mountains constantly, unsure fully of where the bottom is. But I invest simply because I have confidence this is an honest team who will deliver. I want a kickass network and for all early investors and adopters to have a hearty life financially and better yet securely . I am trying to get to 10,000 MAID before launch, hopefully we see another crypto crash so I can bank in on it .
If you read David’s blogs on metaquestions.me all the hard issues have been met. It’just testing, testing, testing here on in. For me Datachains will tell the story. The fact that Marketing is now kicking up a gear is also telling me a story
