It seems like most of the cryptocurrencies out there are written in C++ so I was wondering if you know of any crypto written in the rust programming language.

I’m not aware of any but that would be a unique selling point to Safecoin perhaps!
The ethereum parity client is in rust. There are also a few rust bitcoin libs as well now AFAIK.

IOTA are in the late stages of porting over to RUST
