Not a threat to SAFEnetwork itself, but posted for those interested in the tools used for mass surveillance or of course other large dataset analysis.

Any idea or thoughts about why they might have done this? I don’t btw, nor do I know who it would be useful to. Is it something that advertisers could adapt or for use within a large company? I don’t understand the mechanics of what it does I mean, in layman’s terms.

I haven’t looked deeper than the description but I think it’s a way of storing, updating and searching a database containing entities and relationships, with properties attached to each of those elements.

So, ideal for analysing data about people, their relationships, interests etc. grabbed from collecting data from web browsing, social networks, emails, phone records etc.

Lots of people do analysis of this type (entity and relationship - it’s an invaluable investigative technique), not all of it privacy destroying, but it is very suited to that purpose.

Maybe some one already hacked it out of them and they did this to remove the temptation for others to hack to get it

Maybe they hope some smart people might improve it for them

I really like the idea though! It’s at least an indirect way of being “more transparant”!

And at least if we have paid with public funds for these tools, government should share them !
