Good old USA hey, the land of the free, but you can get your ass sued right off ya.
They tried to get the 3 strikes you’re out trick (lose ISP connection) legislated in Australia and were told to sod off. But since the big media paid donated $millions to the major parties the government allowed big media to bring cases before the courts to have websites blocked that met a certain standard of copyright violation.
Big media here still has to bring civil cases against individuals and traditionally have rarely succeeded beyond the accused getting slaps on the wrists and little if anything in compensation.
At least SAFE will prevent the big Media from even knowing if anyone downloaded a “work” and cannot know who uploaded it either.
