About the possible existence of multiple SAFE Networks

Thank you for the answer!

I’m not asking about the entire network. I ask for my personal information. Can I have it on two networks at the same time?

Just pay to upload to both.

Yes, but can there be a vault or browser that reads information from both networks?

I would imagine it would require custom code being made.

Maybe as its doctored code would get you chucked out though.

Some of you data you could duplicate between networks. But much of the useful data we have on these networks will be dependent on relationships between data, much of which you will not control, so it cannot practically be duplicated between networks.

Just think about messages between contacts for example, identities, conversations, searches, anything community based etc. And not to mention all the rich experiences made possible by Linked Data.

In which end? On the network or in the browser?

if you wanted a vault to run on 2 networks at once, I would think you would need custom made vault code.

The browser is just for seeing the data.

What we should aim for is different development teams all on the same goal until SAFE actually becomes a protocol (absolute minimum code and well documented algorithms etc.). Then governance - or the choices over any magic numbers in there? perhaps farming algorithms and so on, but I am not sure it would just dilute the passion and determination for a free uncensored, secure and anonymous internet?

Not sure?

Even you started new network, there will be no same data.

Hey friend, don’t kill the mailman. I’m just saying what I think is likely to happen with open source software. 40 years on the planet have taught me that there is nothing, not one thing for humanity to work on together - not even a pandemic. I very much doubt SAFE is the first such thing…

This might be exactly the reason to move over to another Safe Network fork.
Oh safe://porn is taken? Well, let’s move to this fork where I can still claim it!

Why have no alternative domain name systems taken off on the web do you think?

In the end there can be only one.

So you have to bring users too thats hard part. You can do same thing here in internet.

For some reason my original response to this topic was categorized elsewhere, so I’m going to repost it again:

A request was received to split the topics. Unfortunately, splitting up on a cell phone is a touchy job that I’m not good at … sorry @Sotros25

But this gives me the opportunity to point out with which crypto person I define myself (of course only by heart, not by abilities of the mind). Think of me as a SAFE version of mr. Andreas Antonopoulos

!#$% yeah there is going to be lots of SAFE networks that is the whole point. That’s what will make the whole network stronger and outlast its competitors. People will get a choice of what network to be on, so everybody wins. If you are scared of this maybe you don’t understand what “decentralization” really means.
However these spinoff networks won’t happen unless and until the original network is demonstrated to be useful, and powerful.:racehorse:

Disagree in value of multiple safe networks. If one network is truly decentralized and anonymous and performant, then all you need are more members joining it, not more networks of the same exact type(the more the network grows and the more farmers it has, the more value it can provide).

It’s not about if alternative domain systems are succesful. It’s about if a forked network is there…I can join them easily if I want.

Let’s hope so, but we need a good start. Starting unseen and growing slowly is the best. Just like the clearnet once, just like bitcoin.

Starting something new while everyone is watching is asking for problems. It attracts fortune seekers etc. We live in an environment where forking is easy, so a lot of people will try to start their own MAIN Safe Network to profit from.
